I hope that your gathering of family and friends will be filled with love and laughter.
Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search 2016 starts July 29. If you have never participated – It is a lot of fun! Here is a link to check it out. She always sends out prep work to get your creative juices flowing. I love beautiful packaging so I will elaborate on Prep – Number 2.
This is Number 2 : Packages (I love)
So I thought I would show you a few of my favorites that I have kept.
Look at the beautiful details in this work. The typography is great , the color palette in the packaging is dainty and fresh – the stitching detail adds a special touch to the label and then tying it with a straw ribbon!
I am guessing these are holes in the packaging to smell the soap before you purchase?? If that is the case, nice touch. Love the beautiful woodsy paper tied with twine and has a bell attached, feels a little like Christmas.
Gorgeous elegant packaging! The color palette on the main package is stunning, the beautiful scrolls through out the label adds to the elegance of the package. The hand drawn/colored lotus flowers on the packaging is so enticing. Who wouldn’t want to wash with the soap inside!
So you can tell I really love soaps and their packages. I just have a few more different packages that are my favorites.
This packaging grab my attention from the shelf. The woodsy/cork detailing made me curious of what it held inside. What a delight to open the beautiful box up to find these eye popping leather bookmarks. I have owned these for many years, but I still remember how I felt when I opened the box. I do not use these but I do keep this out in view – to see a friend open or just enjoy reopening the box myself.
Fossil Tins – who doesn’t love a tin. I love how that the design engulfs the whole tin.
and lastly – one of my very favorite artist. Kelly Rae Roberts. I was lucky and won a give away of hers and this held and a “wish angel” I have the angel sitting on my dresser- but who could through this gorgeous packaging away. It has mixed media delights on all sides. Lovely!

Our mini exercise was to visit a store and find a pattern collection that we liked. I kind of went overboard. I was really intrigued in how a company can take a design and create so many items. The collection Pioneer Woman probably was geared toward country style living. I say that due to seeing her program on television and by just viewing her collection. Normally I do not gravitate to country, but some of her pieces could definitely fit into a different style (like the style I gravitate to). First I want to show you all of her collection – which is a lot!
Wow! I just kept finding more! As you will notice, someone that love the country style might be in heaven with this collection. My taste doesn’t go to deep into country. So these are the pieces that caught my eye. I was first noticed the towels with all their colors, and then I spotted the plates, cups and bowls. I particulary love the painterly style on the plate, cups and bowls. LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! But I am also drawn to the bowl with circles drawn with small circles (in the middle). Very fun design, with the dots and the different base color. So out of all these pictures these are my favorites. And Just look at all those colors in the color palette!!!
This was a fun exercise. I am in the Module 2 but if you are interested in any classes with Rachel Taylor here is the link. I took Module 1 last year and enjoyed it so much that I signed up for Module 2 and 3 this year.
