The whirlwind of the holidays are past us and the New Year begins!
Have you decided how your 2017 is going to go? The word “decided” sounds strange doesn’t it? But I have been listening to encouraging lectures/sermons. Our attitude has a lot to do with how our year or our life will go. If I want to grow my business this year but I complain about all the hats that I have to wear, or just have a bad attitude in general the only thing that is going to flow out of me is negativity. But if my attitude is to be thankful that I have this opportunity to try to grow a business and enjoy the different aspects of business, then positivity should be what flows from within me. Life is so much better when your attitude is positive.
I have also heard advice on your dreams. Don’t let someone else decide whether your dream will work or not. They are not You. Maybe God put this dream inside of You and He is going to help you achieve this dream. I am always amazed when I read a biography and see that it took someone years to achieve their dream. When we see them during their successful time, we never think about how long they have been working towards their success. I researched successful people and how each struggled to succeed. I did this so that I could write down one at the beginning of each month in my daytimer. I wanted one for each month because I am going to send out portfolio’s this year and I needed a little encouragement. I will share one with you.
According to CBSNews.com – Stephen King’s “Carrie” manuscript was rejected by 30 publishers, finally causing King to give up and throw it in the trash. His wife
retrieved it and urged him to resubmit it. The rest is history. King has since published more than 50 books, all worldwide bestsellers, according to Amazon.com.
Pretty amazing that 30 publishers said no to his “Carrie” manuscript. Just think if his wife had not gave him a little bit more encouragement when he had lost his – we might not have ever been able to be scared to death my the movie “Carrie”. Oh, maybe that is Positive Persistence.
I listen to Joel Osteen while I work sometimes. He spoke on how important it is to “speak your future”. Don’t send negative talk out into the universe. Send positive talk about how great its going to be when you achieve your dream! Plan that scholarship that you want to start for single moms, plan that housing unit you want to build to help someone in need. Visualize your future!
You’ve got this!
